Spirituality
Spirit, Soul, Divine spark, Self (capital “S”), higher consciousness are all terms to describe our spiritual selves, the part of us that goes beyond the physical. Some people are comfortable with certainty in terms of their spirituality, while others find themselves consistently surrounded by the mystery of it, the unknown, the abyss.
Wherever we find ourselves on the spiritual spectrum between certainty and mystery, our yoga practice supports us. It can be the vehicle that drives our transcendence, or the salve that soothes us in times of uncertainty.
Dropping down into the body is dropping down into the intuition, dropping down into our spiritual selves, the part of us that knows the truest to be true. We are all gifted with it; we all can access it at any time. Our yoga practice is a deliberate engagement and integration of our physical and spiritual selves.
As a nod to Mason Jennings’ song, I Love You and Buddha Too- we are many, we are one, never ending, just begun.
Let us continue to arrive at our mat and begin, and then begin again and again.
