"My business is Purusha People! We make sustainable and plant based clothing in the USA to remind you of your true self.
I am endlessly inspired by nature and the passing of time. The seasons, medicinal plants, mushrooms, butterflies, and summer flowers are a touch of the divine in this world that I'm driven to communicate in wearable art. Good and kind people and the earth are what I dedicate our creations to everyday.
I moved to Litchfield in 2017 after living in southern California for 5 years. Charym was and is such a haven from the hectic world. Crowded yoga classes and traffic discouraged me from taking very many yoga classes while I lived in California, but that was ok as my personal practice is the heart of my yoga. However, after taking some classes at Charym, I was reminded how lovely it felt to practice alongside other humans. There is an energy that can't be beat, and a sense of coming together for something greater. The vibe of Charym to me is one of calm acceptance. The atmosphere guides me to take a moment to slow down and marvel at the beauty of nature and the space and community around me.
Practicing yoga as I age keeps me feeling young and refreshed, and attempting new poses in my practice keeps the spirit of playfulness and flow alive in my life. I've been practicing handstands for years, and I am finally coming away from the wall, but it's so scary! I love that yoga can bring up these things, and gently nudge me out of my comfort zone if that's what I'm seeking. I can choose my own adventure, and listen to my body. Settling into a long stretch with nourishing deep breaths is like a reset button when I need it. I think I'd have more pain in my body and less resiliency in my brain without it."
