Summer is on the Horizon

If you are not the kind of person to take time out for yourself, take a pause, and visualize the coming summer months.

What is the one thing you are absolutely NOT going to miss out on this summer? Take a pen to paper, and let’s write this down.

What do you most look forward to when temperatures start to climb? Use sensory language and word association as you envision your most ideal summer.

Here are some things that come to my mind:

  • Warmth

  • Spontaneity

  • Salty air

  • Vacation

  • Sunshine

  • Freedom

  • Sandy

  • Lemonade

It doesn’t matter how random your list is. These words represent you and the image created by your mind’s eye.

Summertime is a season of vibrant life. It is a time for both busyness, and relaxation. It is when many people take time off either for a long awaited trip, or for that staycation, laying out in the backyard and soaking in the vitamin D.

Summertime is that break from school, visits to grandparents or visits from grandkids, playdates and waterparks, beaches and overnight camp.

It is the season of youth, and inspires all ages to celebrate the sun in youthful vitality.

Summer is on the horizon; it will be here before you know it. As we anticipate the season, let’s take the time to leverage our yoga practice with introspection, digging deep, discovering what we value most.

What are your priorities? What is non-negotiable?

What are you going to get out of your summer?
